flip-flop

noun [ C ]  /ˈflɪpˌflɑp/

a sudden and complete change of plans

A yearning for a more wholesome, wide-open family lifestyle became a reality in March 2016 with our move to this magical place in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Excited about the complete change, from sprawling suburbia in Richmond's Chesterfield County to the rolling green hills and pastures nestled between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains, little did we know that this theme would continue to weave itself so curiously and unexpectedly into our daily lives here on the farm. This is why we call this place Flip-Flop Farm.

From the surprising sunrises and stunning sunsets, the unexpected animal antics and even our approach, everything here is a flip-flop (from convention): pasture-raised chickens and geese; hair sheep (including our 3.5 legged mascot "Little Leg"); organic vegetables; our giant-marshmallow guardian dogs; and wide-open spaces for everyone to run, play and have fun. We invite you to experience Flip-Flop farm with us!

Our Lamb

Our goal is to raise high-quality, healthful, farm-to-table lamb. Our lamb is free-range, pasture-raised with no pesticides or herbicides used on pasture, unaltered, and hormone-free.

Our breeding flock is a group of Dorper-Katahdin hair sheep selected to provide a juicy, mild/non-mutton tasting, high yielding meat that does not disappoint!
